Get H.I.T.C.H.ed with InTheRooms Facebook App

Just when I became active at social networking again due to an online contest (tee hee), here comes the InTheRooms Facebook App which aims to Help, Inform, Touch, Connect and Heal (HITCH) people on their way to recovering from addiction. One of the better ideas for making use of the most famous social networking site today, I think. Instead of mindless game apps that are popular among Facebook users, why not make use of your little space on the Internet to make way for people to share their experiences with respect to recovery from addiction? Might be able to convince more people to shy away from their bad vices, as well.

What’s great about the app is that you can choose to remain anonymous or reveal your identity to other users. Many people like to remain faceless while recovering from an addiction, and this app respects your privacy by giving you that choice. You can also show others how much time you have invested in your recovery, encouraging people to do the same. Another great feature is the ability to invite current Facebook friends to install the app themselves so you can interact through it.

As a backgrounder, InTheRooms is one of the most complete online resources for knowing the what and the when of recovery meetings. For people who need to fit in Anonymous meetings within their tight schedule, the site is a treasure to behold. Spread the love.
