New Design: 888Host

This template is again a first for me, since I haven’t done a blog hosting theme before. When Ma Belle (owner of 888Host) approached me, I had no idea the design would end up this way. She just wanted a simple two-column WordPress layout for the site because after all, she said she is only putting it up for friends and relatives who want their sites hosted. Her clients, according to her, would mostly be getting her services for free, so she saw no need in dressing it up like a real blog hosting company.

I thought, on the other hand, that she should pursue this business and make it for real. There are, after all, a lot of blogs there who are looking for affordable hosts. She mentioned she really wants to but she’s afraid she’s not very good at handling such things, so I thought I’d give her a push in the right direction: by making her a theme that looks like business-like. Although the colors of her choice are girly, I thought I was still able to make it appear professional but friendly enough to attract customers.

She handled all site contents, of course, and even changed the colors of some of the standard graphics that I put on the site, so I guess this is a sign that she will be taking this venture seriously from now on. She has yet to fully launch the site as she says she still has a lot of content to put in, but I think it’s already a good start. I wish you good luck on your small business Ma Belle, and hope that in its small way, my theme will somehow help you get clients. Curious what the site looks like? Click on the screenshot below! And yes, that’s WordPress.
