A Flood of Memories

Our supposedly four-day vacation to Bulacan became a two-week one when we typhoons Pedring, Qiel and Ramon prevented us from going home. We were in Hagonoy for most of that two-weeks, and while that might sound boring to some without electricity and waist-level flood water all around, we actually had fun.

The main reason was we were with the (almost) whole family. I’ve always found joy in being with them, what with the different lives that we’re leading now. Secondary reason is that I get to take a break from work without feeling too guilty about it.

Third reason is that we got to ate tons of fish and seafood! While the flood is bad news for the owners of fisheries in Hagonoy and Calumpit, it was good news for the common folk. Why the prices of fish and seafood are rock bottom! Those big crabs you see in the picture? That’s 5 kilos of seafood goodness for only Php400. We were also able to buy big shrimps for a measly Php150 a kilo. Pure heaven.

Of course once we got back home it’s back to meat viands again. Hee hee. Wow. I didn’t realize until we got home that I miss it.

I have been craving for seafood. I really should ask my mom to ask someone in Samar to buy us some. I want some lobsters!

Glad you were ok back in Bulacan.

i wasn’t aware that you were in hagonoy these past weeks sis, it would have been a great opportunity to finally meet you!

i miss eating seafoods, the best i can get is the paksiw na bangus i cooked the other day. but i sooo would love to eat shrimps, the big ones!

am just glad you guys survived the flood unscathed, a lot of people from calumpit + hagonoy weren’t as lucky!

anyway, i hope i see you the next time you come down to visit..have a great one! mwah!
