Another Thank You Post

This is gonna be a pretty long one. Don’t say I didn’t warn you.

Despite my belief that life generally sucks nowadays, here’s an extra bright ray of sunshine in my life, brought about by who else but my beloved marce club (plus two!). Have I told you yet that I love them to bits? Yes? Oh sheesh. Okay, a new line then. Je t’aime beaucoup, tu serais toujours dans mon coeur. LOL. Sorry. The French language is rubbing off me. Anyways, on to my story (at least to the people involved) before the thank yous.

So my birthday was last month. I received something on my PayPal account from Pehpot, saying (rather, instructing me. LOL) to not compose a thank you post immediately as there are more to come “because not everyone has contributed yet“. So I obliged.

Two weeks passed. Jade and I finally got to talk on messenger after.. I don’t know how long. Hee hee. Typical of me.

I knew Jade wasn’t always online these days, so I figured they might have originally planned for a camera but due to, according to Pehpot, “loads of work”, they weren’t able to pursue with it. And Jade wasn’t aware about the change of plans. So that’s settled then. My heart still believes it’s Paypal funds. Which I was pretty glad about because I needed cash (don’t I always? Hee hee).

The next day, Fedhz and I chatted on YM. She said she was going to send me the clothes that Pehpot bought for Svet, as well as the internet plug-it that I earlier asked from her. The original plan was to have my stepdad fetch it from their condo to save her the shipping fee. I told Fedhz I was going to tell her when my stepdad will come to fetch the stuff, but I wasn’t always online on YM, and she decided to just send it over. So she sent me “the clothes and the plug-it” that day.

That same day I commented on Fedhz’ post about her trip to Pehpot’s house, about how delicious Pehpot’s homemade tocino (sweet cured pork) is. At the end of the post is an über pink camera which reminded me of Niko’s own.

The next day (just to make sure we’re still on the same time line, the date was August 17. LOL), I was bantering with my cousin on my Facebook wall.

I went to sleep that day and dreamt of a pink camera which Ayie delivered to our house. Whad’ya know?

When I woke up the next day, the pink camera in Fedhz’ post was brought by Ayie!

So that was why Jade thought I already had the camera. That was why Fedhz’ post was titled “Who’s This For?”. And that was why my cousin thought I owned a gorgeous camera!

Sheesh. Honestly I was bowled over. Imagine just waking up after only about four hours of sleep and being presented with a too cute for words camera. Ayie answered Pehpot’s question of “How did she react?” by a “Wala naman“, not knowing I was still dazed by the reality of it. So here’s the (widely rumored. LOL) camera that, thanks to my marces (plus two!), I now own:

Unfortunately, I’m not artista enough to recreate my facial expression when I first unwrapped the camera from its packaging (as per the suggestion of Sam. LOL). So there’s me and my camera. Haha! But that’s not the first shot. Here’s the first ever shot:

Svet’s version of Yena’s signature pose, with one finger instead of two. LOL. She’s wearing the super cute dress that Pehpot gave her which came with the package.

BUT. This post was not made for me. It is for those who made me extra happy this year, who made me think that being the bunso of the marce club has its benefits. LOL. The camera didn’t make me cry with joy. Some other things did:

Although I have been part of the birthday gimmicks several times before, never have I thought that I would receive my greeting cards this way. This is waaaay too sweet of my marces. I swear I was smiling and crying a little while reading your messages my dears. It warms the heart to know that I belong to a group of special ladies who goes out of their way to make me happy. So thank you, thank you so, so much Chris, Fedhz, Gene, Jade, Kikamz, Liz, Mye, Niko, Pehpot, Seiko and Yami. Although Pehpot firmly denies that you love me so much, I still believe that you all do. LOL.

But who’s the plus two that I have mentioned twice already in this post? It’s Sam and Bambie, ladies and gentlemen, two of the most caring people in the blogosphere I know. They didn’t have to, you know. It’s usually just the marces, but they went the extra mile and made me feel extra extra special.

THANK YOU GIRLS. You don’t know how much this means to me. You know I will try my best to make it up to you in my own way. Thank you for not only the gift, but most especially for the friendship and the never-ending support that you give whenever I need help. I don’t think I need to say that I owe you a lot (well, okay, I think I just did. LOL), but I do. And I’m very grateful to have known all of you through blogging. I don’t think I can ever be thankful enough for that.

And while I’m in a writing marathon of almost 1000 words (hihi), let me also thank everyone who greeted me on Facebook. I can’t enumerate you all but thank you so much for greeting me on my special day. Just taking time to post a few words on my wall is enough of a gift for me.

Thank you also to my sponsors… Oh wait. I don’t have sponsors.

Gosh. If birthdays are like this every year, don’t we all wish we have birthdays everyday? Haha!

I am hearing Pehpot in my mind saying “more, more!”. I’ll post on Facebook. When? Errrrr.. Tomorrow. Hee hee.

Me Wants A Food Blog Too!

If envy can kill, I’d be dead by now. I have long wanted a food blog to call my own. Almost all of my marces have them. Fedhz just launched hers (when will I learn classy coding and design like that? Dang), and Pehpot, Gene, Liz and Niko (have I left anyone out?) already have theirs a long time ago. Now what’s holding me back? Three things.

  • I don’t have a decent camera to take photos of food with. I want pictures that can make readers salivate.
  • Even if I have a decent camera, I’m a lousy photographer. As mentioned in one of my blogs before, give me a bad angle and I’ll shoot it.
  • I don’t know how to cook.

Or maybe I want a food blog because I just want to stare at food. Oh well. I better start learning how to cook properly now. And start saving for a camera. And start learning how to take pictures. Man, that’s a lot of work.

I better learn fast. I might not end up with a cute/catchy domain name because by the time I am an expert on all my requirements, all the good domain names are taken.

Fedhz And I

The long-delayed pictures are here for the posting! Woot! Fedhz sent over several pictures of us through messenger the other day and I only had the time to post it now (was [still is] working on a template). I haven’t talked to her since then because they don’t have Internet up to now (but knowing Fedhz, she can’t last without contact so she sent me an über long email instead. :haha: ) Marces Chris, Gene, Jade, Kikamz, Liz, Mye, Niko, Pehpot, Seiko and Yami, eat your hearts out! So yes, you better come on June or miss out on another fun get together!

Exploiting Fedhz

To reach our house, you have to first go down like twenty or thirty steps. No, we don’t live underground, and if you’ve been to Baguio and saw how houses here are built, you will know what I’m talking about. Anyways, after all the time Fedhz and I have wasted spent talking to each other, it wasn’t until today that I discovered she is afraid of steep stairs. And not even steep steep stairs, I don’t think the ones we have here are that steep. Good thing there are handrails to keep her steady, or she would have spent her whole vacation here inside our house.

I mentioned here that we went to town proper, but originally to go bargain shopping at the legion of ukay-ukay (used articles, i.e bags and clothes) shops which Baguio is famous for, to do the groceries and go to the wet market for our food. But while eating I noticed Fedhz can hardly keep her eyes open from tiredness, so I told Mike and Paulie that we’ll go straight home while they go to the grocery. Naturally, we took Yz and Svet with us, and we were very, very slow in descending because she was afraid that she might slip or something. We were talking and laughing (me laughing at her and she laughing at herself.  ) all the way with the dead weight of the two toddlers on our shoulders (both of them fell asleep in the taxi) so imagine the shortness of breath. But hey, it’s not everyday I get to be with my marce like that so it’s more than okay. What’s with the title? Filler post, see.
