How Obsessed Are You?

I didn’t understand all the fuss about the Twilight series a while back, when I haven’t read the entire saga myself. I thought I wouldn’t like a love story involving vampires, but boy I was wrong. So now I am a huge fan, and although far from being obsessed, I look forward to watching Eclipse (haven’t seen it yet) and Breaking Dawn with Paulie. We saw Twilight and New Moon the movie together, so I thought it’d only be fair to watch the other two movies with him as well.

Personalized t-shirts with the Twilight theme are all the rage right now, as well as all sorts of the saga’s memorabilia. I think someone’s fanaticism over the Twilight series is also measured by the number of collectible items that he or she owns, but if that was the case, I have a lot to catch up on. If I have some extra cash to spare in my hand right now, I wouldn’t think twice to buy New Moon apparel, or maybe a coffee cup with the faces of the cast in it.

I know wanting one or two Twilight items cannot be called an obsession yet, and I sure hope that my desire to own those stops at just that. I’d rather see other people stocking up on the series’ items than be in that position myself. I can be quite engrossed about something and lose discipline, and this is not an obsession I think I can handle well.

Ramsay And Dee

Aside from Enchong Dee (who is my long-time crush), Derek Ramsay is the hottie of my dreams right now. LOL. Must be from too much soap-opera watching (Magkaribal, where both Ramsay and Dee appear). I haven’t really looked at Ramsay closely before (because I didn’t have the interest to watch any of the shows that he was previously on), but his hopelessly-in-love-with-Victoria (Gretchen Barretto) character in the show caught my attention. Hi character in the soap, Louie Villarama, is as hot as he is brooding and angsty. Deadly combination, don’t you think? Quite irresistible for girls. And I hate how he is always let down by Victoria, when it is so obvious that he loves her to pieces. I heard this is his first time doing such a kid from the street role. But he’s doing great, I think.

Enchong Dee, on the other hand, portrays a most delightful character in the soap, as Caloy Javier, bestfriend of Gelai (Bea Alonzo), poor boy from Divisoria. This role is also very different from his rich kid role in Tanging Yaman, and I must say that he is doing a very good job. I am looking forward to the weeks when the love story between Dee and Erich Gonzales (who plays Chloe) will be in full bloom. Nowadays, Dee is still very attached to the character of Alonzo, and while it is still entertaining, I have gotten used to the Dee-Gonzales match-up that partnering with any other girl seem to emit no spark.

I am officially hooked to the series, so I will definitely be seeing more of these two in the coming weeks. But, I know that whether wearing rich kid clothes with matching mens ties, or donning normal street clothes, these two will excel in the roles assigned to them. I hope they get more acting projects in the future, although that would mean more soap operas to watch for me. LOL

Bloody Soap Opera

It’s not letting me do any work at night! It starts with Oh, my! Momay! (Svet’s favorite show in the world. I swear it keeps her glued to the TV for the duration of the show) up to Ruby (yes, we’re Kapamilya all the way. LOL.), and I will be able to do very little work between those times. I don’t know when I’ve started watching soaps again (I stopped for a semester during college and that’s when I first found myself watching these cheesy shows) and why,  but I guess it’s because everybody else in the house is doing the same.

And I also think it’s because I can’t resist Xyriel Manabat’s (the girl playing Momay), Zaijan Jaranilla’s (Jacob/Eli in the new series Noah) and Enchong Dee’s (who plays Caloy in Magkaribal) charm. Svet loves Xyriel even in Agua Bendita, when she still plays the young Agua and Bendita, and her interest in Xyriel’s character is infectious. Oh well. I might as well indulge myself. I haven’t watched a movie, anyways, since Paulie is not here.

Jeez. Am I the only one this addicted to soaps?

Team Edward!

With all the Eclipse rage right now, I feel like I have to formally take a stand on who I favor more for Bella. Tee hee. I’ve actually been asked several times by online friends who I side with, team Edward or team Jacob. Well, having read the entire saga, I’m team Edward all the way (and don’t ask me why. Just read the book). I used to be team Jacob, after watching the first two movies and seeing Jacob transform from a so-so boy to a delicious hunk (like he washed down a lot of testosterone booster in between movies), and after seeing Edward for the first time in the first movie (not entirely what I imagined Edward to be, based on the description of my cousins). Breaking Dawn completely changed my mind. Don’t get me started please. I’ll just spoil the surprise for you if I continue yapping here. LOL. As I said, just read the dang book. Or else wait for the last installation of the movie (if you’re that patient to see it onscreen and you’re that lazy to read 756 pages).
