Lately, I’ve been hearing a lot of complaints from friends who own a Blogger blog regarding glitches in the system, those that seriously affect their blogging routine. I still have a blog with said platform, but I maintain it mainly to keep up with the latest improvements of the platform, since I still design templates for clients with Blogger blogs. I have long been a fan of WordPress, as most of you might have realized by now based on my previous articles. As days pass, I discover more things about WP that make me love it even more, and the recent Blogger issues reaffirm my belief that I have made the right choice in choosing to host my main blog at WP. Learning WP may not be as easy as getting an NC short term health insurance, but it sure beats experiencing the constant blogging headaches that Blogger gives its users.

Miss Reading
Since I’ve done nothing but read during my two-week vacation, I’ve somehow gotten used to reading a new book at least every other day. Ever since we got back, I haven’t finished a single book I’ve started, what with the backlog that I have to wade through and the limited time that I have in my hands right now because of the lack of somebody else (Paulie) to take care of Svet. I planned to read the only Stephenie Meyer book that I haven’t read, The Host, but up to now it’s still a plan. I’ll read supplement reviews, too, if I have the time. This is one of those times when I wish I have more than two hands, or do not get tired, or have at least 40 hours a day to finish doing what I have to do. People waiting on me to finish my work for them is hell for me, and I don’t know if you can imagine what that does to my stress level. I haven’t even been posting properly for all of my blogs, something that I should’ve been doing everyday. Augh. I do nothing but rant these days, no? Jeez. Must be hard to read my blogs nowadays. LOL.
Jen Marek was the winner of my blog makeover giveaway last month, and here’s a capture of what I did with her layout.
She was very defined in what she wants with her makeover, and I’m glad that I am able to satisfy her requirements, doing as much as I can. I worked on a couple of mockups before we finally agreed on the final layout that you can see on her site right now.
She has tons of visitors and readers already, but I’m sure she wouldn’t mind new visitors that I drive her way. Hee hee. Please click on the screen capture of her site above to land on her site and tell her what you think of her new layout. You might even find a giveaway or two to join, while you’re there!

First Day Out
The day after we went home, I decided to bring the kids (Svet, my nephew Zek and my youngest sister Lexene) out. We slightly experienced traffic on the way, what with the huge RV stopping dead in the middle of the road, good thing the rv towing people came around fast. Svet missed running at the park, so went there after eating out and buying a couple of daisy dukes. I’ve been planning for so long to buy new ones, but I hate the recent purchases because when we came home and I decided to wear it, it won’t fit me. I had no choice but to hand it over to the more than willing hands of Ayie). I guess it’s true that I’ve put on additional weight. I didn’t want to believe people saying that to me, because I didn’t feel heavier, but I guess two weeks of doing nothing while eating a lot can take a toll even on a high metabolism freak like me.
So Svet was really excited when we got to the park. She started running around like crazy, and bounced up and down like there was no tomorrow on the giant inflatables that Lexene led us to. They wanted boating, too, but Ayie and I firmly said no. Not one of us know how to swim, and I don’t want to risk it, even if the lake is not that deep. We just went to the playground (which is free, whew) and we stayed there long enough for the kids to almost pass out from exhaustion. This is one of the things I also miss being here. You can have a day out and not mind the weather at all, because it’s so tourist-friendly. I wish I can say the same of Manila. *sigh*
