Some of you might have noticed that I have been out of touch for a couple of days now, due to my internet connection being in the process of transfer to our new home. As I believe I have mentioned in another post, we are moving to somewhere near here, a lot smaller than where we live now, but it will be just Paulie and Svet and I so space will not be an issue (besides we don’t have a lot of stuff, so). The house will not be available for residency until the first week of August, so in the meantime we will be at our mom’s house so I can work from there. Why the wait? No, there’s no one there that we have to wait to move out before we can move in. Tee hee. The house is actually new, just constructed, and when Paulie and I last went there, there was still no paint on the walls and the floor is still not waxed. But it looks pretty sturdy, judging from what I saw during the construction phase (I visit every week to see how they are going). I don’t think roof restoration or any kind of restoration, for that matter, will be needed in a while, seeing how everything is brand new. And no, as much as I want for the house to be our own, it isn’t. We are just renting it, and since we will be the first ones to rent it, we will get first taste of how it feels like to live there. Wish us good luck. Moving to another house is an exciting adventure for me, one that I hope to enjoy to the fullest.

Most home remodeling projects don’t provide the owners with a significant return on their investments. That’s often because the projects take a long time to complete, which means the price tag gets larger every day. Add in the amount of money required to purchase flooring, wood, paint, and other items, and it quickly becomes obvious that your small home remodeling project can carry a large price tag. There is, however, a notable exception to this rule. Remodeling your bathroom can improve your home’s resale value and entice more potential buyers to make offers on the property.

Bathroom projects don’t have to cost a lot of money. Simply adding new bathroom accessories can make your home much more appealing. Potential buyers often focus on small details in the bathroom, such as shower heads and faucets. Installing well designed bathroom accessories in your home, therefore, can make the property really stand out.

Of course, you don’t have to stop there. You can choose to redecorate the bathroom with a fresh coat of paint, or you can decide to remodel the room completely by adding a new bath tub, shower stall, or sink. These elements will show potential buyers how much they could enjoy living in the house. Realistically, though, you get the most for your money with small changes that make the bathroom seem luxurious.

Small projects also cost less money because you probably have the skills needed to complete many of them. Replacing a shower head, for instance, is very easy. You can easily do it in an afternoon. Since you don’t have to hire professionals to install most bathroom accessories, you get instant savings on the DIY project. That means you will make a larger profit when you sell the property.

That’s how Svet likes to play. Whenever we go to the playground, she would always choose the seesaw or the swing, and scream with glee as she goes down, and giggle like there’s no tomorrow as she goes up a playground installation. Someday, when we finally get to have a house to call our own, I would like to have a spacious front or back yard, for Svet to have her own seesaw or swing, right in the comfort of our home. I know those outdoor installations can be quite pricey, but for Svet, I know I will have to save. The Outdoor Toy Company offers such installations, and I have scanned some of their products for probable purchase and I loved several at first sight.

The TP toys Forest Single Swing 2 would be great for her. Aside from it being relatively cheaper, it looks as if it won’t need as much space as the other outdoor toys, as I would need to be realistic about the space requirements. Plus the swing is adjustable, a plus for Svet as she grows older (and for me, too, as I wouldn’t need to buy a new swing immediately when she gets a bit bigger). I’m a klutz when it comes to installation, so it also helps that it is easy to install. The only thing now left for us aside from buying the swing is to find a house with big enough space to accommodate it.

Jessica Anne, owner of the Adventures With Three Girls blog, is a dream to work with. I think it’s because we almost have the same taste in everything (even down to the colors!), so it was no surprise when we finished in record time! She said she wanted to incorporate her three girls and green living. All it took was a single mock-up, three very minor revisions and we’re off to coding. Quick, eh? I know even a short visit to see Jessica’s blog makeover would make her extremely happy, so if you have a moment to spare, hop over to her blog (just click on the screen capture below!) to see her blog rockin’ a new look!

I didn’t understand all the fuss about the Twilight series a while back, when I haven’t read the entire saga myself. I thought I wouldn’t like a love story involving vampires, but boy I was wrong. So now I am a huge fan, and although far from being obsessed, I look forward to watching Eclipse (haven’t seen it yet) and Breaking Dawn with Paulie. We saw Twilight and New Moon the movie together, so I thought it’d only be fair to watch the other two movies with him as well.

Personalized t-shirts with the Twilight theme are all the rage right now, as well as all sorts of the saga’s memorabilia. I think someone’s fanaticism over the Twilight series is also measured by the number of collectible items that he or she owns, but if that was the case, I have a lot to catch up on. If I have some extra cash to spare in my hand right now, I wouldn’t think twice to buy New Moon apparel, or maybe a coffee cup with the faces of the cast in it.

I know wanting one or two Twilight items cannot be called an obsession yet, and I sure hope that my desire to own those stops at just that. I’d rather see other people stocking up on the series’ items than be in that position myself. I can be quite engrossed about something and lose discipline, and this is not an obsession I think I can handle well.

Svet is almost 27 months old now, and while she can be a real sweetie when she wants to, she throws unbelievable tantrums at times and can be mean to her otherwise very gentle cousin Elijah when she doesn’t get her way (especially when it comes to toys, which they share). I’ve read a lot about the terrible twos when she was just a baby, and I didn’t expect for her to go through it because she was such a little angel back then. As you can see, I am eating my words now. LOL.

As naughty as she is now, I am still thankful for her everyday antics that brightens our day. She can say a lot of things now, and express her feelings through words, and but while I understand most of the things she says, there are instances when they are garbled. She ends up being very irritated because I can’t understand what she’s trying to say. Sometimes when I have a lot in my mind or am trying to work, we both end up frustrated. I know this phase is normal and all, but I just wish that she’ll get through it already, as she can be incredibly tiring. Sometimes I wish I could just cry and throw myself on the floor too out of frustration. Hee hee.

Aside from Enchong Dee (who is my long-time crush), Derek Ramsay is the hottie of my dreams right now. LOL. Must be from too much soap-opera watching (Magkaribal, where both Ramsay and Dee appear). I haven’t really looked at Ramsay closely before (because I didn’t have the interest to watch any of the shows that he was previously on), but his hopelessly-in-love-with-Victoria (Gretchen Barretto) character in the show caught my attention. Hi character in the soap, Louie Villarama, is as hot as he is brooding and angsty. Deadly combination, don’t you think? Quite irresistible for girls. And I hate how he is always let down by Victoria, when it is so obvious that he loves her to pieces. I heard this is his first time doing such a kid from the street role. But he’s doing great, I think.

Enchong Dee, on the other hand, portrays a most delightful character in the soap, as Caloy Javier, bestfriend of Gelai (Bea Alonzo), poor boy from Divisoria. This role is also very different from his rich kid role in Tanging Yaman, and I must say that he is doing a very good job. I am looking forward to the weeks when the love story between Dee and Erich Gonzales (who plays Chloe) will be in full bloom. Nowadays, Dee is still very attached to the character of Alonzo, and while it is still entertaining, I have gotten used to the Dee-Gonzales match-up that partnering with any other girl seem to emit no spark.

I am officially hooked to the series, so I will definitely be seeing more of these two in the coming weeks. But, I know that whether wearing rich kid clothes with matching mens ties, or donning normal street clothes, these two will excel in the roles assigned to them. I hope they get more acting projects in the future, although that would mean more soap operas to watch for me. LOL

As the winner of my June blog makeover giveaway, Pearl got a brand spanking new look for her food blog, My Sassy Chef. She explained to the me theme of the blog, picked the colors and described what she would want to see in the header. I think I managed to make it pretty close to what she described.

I used Shoebop as the main font. I’ve loved this font since forever, and since I don’t use it anymore for the design of my old blog at Blogger, I decided to incorporate it into Pearl’s new look.

I dropped by the house that we are looking to move to the other day and the landlord told me the house will be ready by the end of this week, paint included. I peeked inside the house, errr.. shoebox and so far, it looks good. Not bigger than I last remembered it, but nicer, since it already has tiles and everything. But the early finish is good news, as it means Paulie will have to go home earlier.

Svet’s been calling for her daddy the past two days (and no, I didn’t make her ), and I think it’s about time he comes home, if only to ease Svet’s longing for him. I can’t wait to move to the new house, it would mean Paulie’s presence in the house, a new beginning, a smaller house to clean (LOL) and complete peace of mind. If I was a car, the move would be like a brand spanking new car air intake for me.

I wonder what will happen to us with this move. But no matter what, I look forward to facing the new challenges this new phase of our lives bring, and I know I will enjoy every minute of it because I will be with Svet and Paulie.

Please note that content in your site or blog can still be copied, even with the code, through highlighting the text and hitting CTRL+C in one’s keyboard. While this code against right clicking will not stop a determined and knowledgeable plagiarist, it does discourage the casual copier. Best thing to do is to watermark your images with your site or blog logo/URL, so that people know where they came from.
